Let the “Inner Revival” Begin

Over the next 21 days we want to see a revival! Now, we know what you think when you hear that word… old school, fundamentalism, etc. We want to reclaim that word & picture again! Before each of us there is a powerful connection to the living God and its called ‘PRAYER’. Through the power of prayer we long for a revival to start inside each of us. That our desire to prayer more would grow and our individual flames/lives when joined TOGETHER would create a fire that cant be stopped in East Orlando.

In the next 21 days we will be learning how to fill our day with ‘PRAYER’ and discover the power that lies within it. As a Church we will be praying over the names of people (see “when LOVE takes over” post below), our church, our community, our city, and this world. Praying that God would reveal himself in supernatural ways. We want to become a church that truly understands that without prayer; “we handicap ourselves”. Join with us as we stand in the gap on behalf of others. Below you can download our 21 DAY PRAYER GUIDE to help assist you. We also desire that you click the “COMMENTS” section IN THIS POST, list your prayer requests and read others. People, family members, circumstances, etc., so that others can view them and that TOGETHER we can pray for each other and watch God do amazing things. All are welcomed. Let us know if you are from Genesis Church or not. Just remember to be wise with the info that is posted 🙂

For us as a Church, this is the foundation.

  1. As a Church:
Lives would truly be transformed within us these 21 days
We would move from observing to participating as a body
God would provide moments to let “LOVE takeover” for us
People in our community would be drawn to Genesis
Individually we would all look for opportunities to invite others
More community serving opportunities to display Jesus to others
KIDGenesis: more volunteers & a team to build a dynamic kids area
    Welcome & Greeting: more volunteers
Set Up & Tear Down: a team that would sacrifice to prepare things
UCF: an opportunities to reach students on that campus
Weekly Finances of Church: people to be obedient in giving
Support Partners: those able to commit more to help with the vision
Relationship with school to continue to grow
Covenant Members committed to the vision of Genesis
Pastors would have wisdom & discernment in leading the Church
Pastors wives as they navigate and fulfill their roles
Marriages & Families in our Church
We would hunger to know God & his Word
Prayer would become the foundation for all we do
God would find favor upon us
God would do “immeasurably more than we could ask” (Eph. 3:20)

  2. As a man, that I will set the example and live a life that is obedient to God. That when I pray it is real and meaningful. As a friend and neighbor that I love others and let them experience what I experience when I truly have Christ in my life. As a husband, that I may be patient and understanding. As a member of my church, that I am not just a church attender, but a difference maker.Let the revival begin!

    • Amen brother, I want to echo Rob’s prayer as it resonates with my heart. I have a growing need to develop an active, and not passive, faith – somewhere along the line my action has turned into spectating, and that isn’t cool. Holy Spirit’s fire fall down, on us, we pray.

  3. I’m asking God for a break through financially
for a healing in my marriage, lately its been one thing after another yet God has given me the peace that passes all understanding, I’m believing God for my car to be fixed for the relationship with my husband and son to be closer/stronger. I’m believing for acceptance letters for college for my two girls who will be HS seniors this year I’m also believing that God will save my lost family members and friends.

If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray then I will hear them and I will heal their land.

Amen, its been a blessing to be part of the body I mean bod of Genesis church…

  4. Pray for my grandfather. He passed out and is now in ICU. They are not sure what has caused it but his Kidneys shut down, his potassium level was low and his sugar level was sky high. They have everything back to normal but he will begin dialysis tonight. They are not sure how often or how long he will need dialysis for but they are trying to kick start the kidneys.

We should know more sometime tomorrow.

  5. Wow, I don’t even know where to begin! I guess first would be for a complete recovery from my accident, that I would be able to walk without limping and regain full range of motion. That God would bless our new business that it would grow and flourish like wild fire. That from the business we would be a blessing to many people and the church. That my families relationship with God, each other, and with the church would be strenghtened. For our lawsuit back in Maryland, that we would be in God’s favor. For Jay and Jordyn, that this would be a great school year. That they would make new friends and thrive in class. And very importantly that Jax would sleep through the night in his OWN bed. I also want to thank God for keeping his promise to never leave or forsake us; For providing a wonderful and amazing support system at Genesis Church, you guys have embraced us, loved us, and made us feel very welcomed. Thank you

  6. PRAISE REPORT!!! This is not a request that I have made know to anyone here, however I feel it might be encouraging for some to hear how great our God is.

We have been praying for a beloved friend that was told that she had a 98% chance of having a very advanced case of kidney cancer, and that she was going to have to have her left kidney removed. After much prayer, the biopsy results came back stating the kidney could stay and it is “just a cyst”. We firmly believe that our loving, miracle working Father changed her cancer to “just a cyst” in the short time it took to get the results back.

All glory, and honor, and praise to our Father who is near to, and hears the prayers of His people.

Be encouraged, and keep lifting up your prayers. Our Father’s will be done in all the requests made.

  7. Katie and I are very grateful and blessed to finally be here with our family at Genesis Church. The means our Father provided for us just to get here were truly miraculous, and we praise Him for that. It is clear that He wanted us here and here we are. The next chapter has begun. Going forward, we are asking prayer first and foremost that we remain open to His purpose for us here.

Very soon, I’m going to need a job. We were only able to move here by me quitting my job in GA. So, right now we’re getting by on the little bit that is left from cashing in my pension. We are specifically praying that God will provide a source of income by late September.

In addition, we have a need for a second vehicle. For some time, our vehicles have been paid for and we want to avoid borrowing any money to the best of our ability so to remain debt free.

Please pray for Sophie as she starts a brand new school.

Above all, pray for our strength and for protection to remain faithful to His purpose in serving Genesis Church and the people of Orlando and abroad.

  8. First of all, I bless God for the chance to be a partner and participant with Him in His kingdom work of love here in Orlando. I am thankful everyday for the people I get to serve with and do life together with on a daily basis.

As for what I could use partners in prayer for, I would have to say my very pregnant wife Katie, my daughter Alaina and our unborn son Ezra. That God would use us for his purpose and will in the world, that we would have a hunger for His Story and a deep love for all people. That Katie would have a healthy rest of the pregnancy and Ezra is healthy and good when he meets us soon. That Alaina continues to be healthy and continues growing and learning with a passion. That our minds and hearts are open to the when/where/why ‘s of Gods mysterious movings and nudging. And for the hurting and broken people in our community and the greater Central FL area that we interact with on a daily basis.

  9. Please pray for Janet who suffers seizures, and they have been occurring more frequently lately.

Also for God to provide a way for Olegs to be cleared for adoption. The Rodriguez family has been trying to adopt him for 3 years, waiting on him to be cleared for adoption. He turns 16 in March and we can’t adopt into the US once the child turns 16. We need a miracle in this case.

  10. Please pray for my aunt back in Virginia. She was diagnosed one year ago with stage 4 colon cancer. She has tried everything and 3 weeks ago, the doctors at Duke told her there is nothing else they can do and she only has 2-4 weeks. Please pray for my uncle and their young children as they are not taking this well at all. They are not strong believers so please pray that they will feel God’s presence during this difficult time and help turn this family around. Thank you all for your love and support.

  11. Update: My grandfather will be released from the hospital today. He has lots of doctors appointments this week but it looks like the Kidneys *May* be working again on their own. Good news for him but he is VERY depressed. When I saw him this past Thursday he was telling me goodbye. I talked to him today on the phone and he is so very down. He is ready for heaven and He doesn’t want to live or fight to do so. My grandmother has Alzheimer and my dad along with his brother and sister are having to make some very hard decisions concerning them both.

Please continue to lift up my grandfather as well as my grandmother and the rest of our family.

  12. Please pray that my spouse realizes soon how big of a problem their addiction is and how negatively it affects our family.

  13. WOW! The gift of prayer is truly the gift that keeps on giving. We are not members of your church, but have very good friends who attend and who have encouraged us to not only listen to the series on prayer, but to also add our own prayers to your blog. Our family has struggled with finances and are in danger of loosing the home that we are renting due to financial set backs. We know that the Lord is in control and we are praying for strength and peace as we try to rest safely in His grace. Please keep our family in your prayers are we move through this period of growth and change in our lives. God is here and He continues to show us the light through the grace of his people. We are truly grateful and will be praying for others that are listed on your blog in the coming days. Thank you for YOUR gift of prayer!

  14. Please pray that we will be able to step outside of our comfort zone and meet and develop relationships with some of our neighbors in our new neighborhood and that my children will make some new friends.

We are also praying for John’s job. We hve no doubt that God gave this job to John, and it has been a blessing, but over the last six months business has been much slower than last summer due to many changes and overhiring. We are praying that things will improve or that God will provide another job and that John can keep a positive attitude and be a light to others at his company.

    Thank you,
    Kristie

  15. Thank God, I got to speek on the phone with my best friend who overdosed on Heroin. This month we gave our tithe to his family instead of the church and his families gratitude was more than overwhelming, In fact these were his words ” Rob, you never really find out who loves you until you hit rock bottom, thank you for loving me and being my friend”. Thank you God for giving me and my family everything we need and more to help others in need. I pray that his rehab goes wellfor Chris and he can regain some more mental alertness. Also the Lord put a Army mission in my hometown in September, so I will get to see him at the governments expense. I truly feel all this is going on for a reason and I KNOW it’s good. I love you my God!

  16. I just want to lift up prayer for our kids (all students) as they go back to school, or start school for the first time. Praying for teachers and friends. Praying that they will be a light in the darkness and that God will protect their eyes and ears. I’m praying over mine that God will make them wise in the things that are good and right and keep them innocent in the things that are evil and wrong. I pray that He will use them for his Glory this school year and that others will be drawn to him because of the light that shines through them.

  17. Please pray for my wife that #1 the doctors will diagnose whats wrong with her cervix properly and that she will be healed #2 that she gets word on the job she applied for at my work, we have often dreamed about going to work together so if it is in His will, let it be known.

  18. Please pray for my friend Melissa who is going to be going next weekend to share with her Jewish Grandmother who survived the Holocaust that she is now a Christian. She feels like God is impressing upon her to go and share with her Grandmother of His love for her. Pray that the blinders would be removed and that she would be open and ready to hear that Jesus is her Messiah. pray that God prepares her heart even now before Melissa goes to see her. Pray for Melissa as she goes and for God to be her mouth piece.

  19. I want to share this with everyone and please pray for this family, they are friends of ours. She has been in the hospital every since she came home from a mission trip to Nicarauga

Dearest friends, Many of you know that the past several months have been a health roller coaster for me. The past 3 weeks have been the part on the roller coaster that flips you upside down and thrusts you around that sharp corner that makes you feel like your guts are being ripped out…

So back in March I had a hysterectomy- i had many many pre-cancerous tumors growing in my uterus and my right ovary was shredded from cysts rupturing. Well here I am 4 1/2 months later, and i’m having serious complications from that surgery. I take daily steroids for lung function and because i’m severely allergic to the environment here. Those very steroids that are helping me to breath were also not allowing my body to heal from that surgery properly. So over the past months my body has been healing at an extremely slow rate which we now know is causing major issues. It seems that my bowel/colon and my cuff(what was sown in after hysterectomy) has adhered to one another. It is causing excruciating pain and is causing an ongoing infection in my colon/bowel area and cervix. So… Thomas and i went to my dr. appt today where I got one last exam to determine the severity of the problem. Its severe. Both doctors told Thomas and I that an array of surgeons will be on hand in the operating room to assist with my surgery Monday- the reason is because there are so many different parts of my insides that are involved with the problem. My cardiologist will be there (i have a hole in my heart), my obgyn for my hysterectomy issue, and 2 different docs who deal with colon/bowel stuff… my doctor told us that there is a very real probability that when i come out of surgery part of my colon/bowel will be missing and i may have a colostomy bag. Not to mention the length of surgery and the different procedures being done at the same time could take a toll on my heart. So… how do i feel about all this? Well this is surgery #6 in 2 years, so you would think i’m a pro at it by now, but for the first time ever i’m SCARED TO DEATH. I’m desperately trying to give this to Jesus and focus on my blessed life, but when i think about what “could” happen, all i can do is weep. I’m begging each of you to please please lift me up in prayer. The enemy is playing tricks on my mind right now- he’s dragging my thoughts into a place of depression and despair- and fear. God has been SO VERY GOOD to me- I know He loves me- but right now i’m feeling defeated and weak. Please pray for me over the weekend and especially on Monday. Pray for my family and for my dear sweet husband who is getting alot more than he bargained for- pray for my children that they will be at peace about this situation. Thank you for listening to me ramble and I really truly appreciate the prayers that i know will be coming my way. ♥ I will keep you all posted…

  20. Please pray for John’s uncle (Gordon Whaley). He will be having surgery this week to remove an extremely large polyp from his colon. They believe that he may have colon cancer.

  21. Please pray for my sister. She is an EMT in Dekalb County Ga, and was stuck with an HIV infected needle last night. She is scared to death, and needs prayer.

  22. Please pray for God to give John the wisdom to make the right decison on whether to stay at his current company or leave. Also, for guidance to find the right job if he leaves. He is going to start talking to companies today. He is getting very little work right now. He is paid commision only, so if he does not get to work, he does not get paid. We cannot survive very long without a paycheck or with extremely small checks. I have no doubt that God will continue to provide for us, but it is still unsettling knowing how litte he is getting to work.

    Thanks,
    Kristie

  23. Just wanted to encourage everyone out there who is praying for a pre-believing family member or loved one… keep at it, lifting their names up before God.

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

    Our Lord HEARS our prayers!
